The annual ‘McBride Cup’ will take place at Newtown School hockey pitch on Saturday 1st September 2018. Waterford Hockey Club will be proudly hosting a number of Men’s Hockey teams from the South East for the tournament. Goal difference will decide the winner of this prestigious cup.
The ‘McBride Cup’ is strongly associated with hockey in Waterford. The ‘McBride Challenge Cup’ was originally presented to the ‘South Eastern Hockey Leagues’ as a winner’s trophy cup for the men’s section by the local Waterford McBride family in 1935.
The McBride Cup will be presented on the day to the winning team.
