Senior Hockey
Waterford Hockey Club welcomes all new members to the Women’s and Men’s Senior Hockey section of our club; if you have never played hockey before but would like to try out the sport, if you are returning to hockey again, or if you are moving from another club.
We offer learning and playing opportunities for all levels of hockey playing ability.
We continually have new club members who have taken up hockey for the first time at Senior Hockey level, who have progressed quickly and now thoroughly enjoy the sport.
Our club competes in club competitions within the Munster hockey province. Senior Hockey players who reach Interprovincial selection can represent Munster at Interprovincial competitions. We also have Senior Hockey club members who play hockey at a very high sporting level and have represented Ireland on Irish Hockey Junior, Senior and Masters teams.
At Waterford Hockey Club we provide our members with an exciting opportunity to get active and stay fit in a friendly, social and competitive sporting environment.
Women’s Senior Hockey
Our Women’s Senior Hockey caters for all girls and women age 16 and older. Our club currently has 3 women’s senior teams (Women’s 1, 2 and 3) and an U18 Girls team, who compete in league and cup hockey competitions at club level primarily in the Munster hockey provincial region. Our Women’s 1st team occasionally compete in national all-Ireland club hockey competitions. Individual women’s senior hockey players regularly progress to represent Munster hockey province at Interprovincial competitions on various age category teams.
Men’s Senior Hockey
Our Men’s Senior Hockey caters for all boys and men age 16 and older. Our club currently has 3 men’s senior teams (Men’s 1, 2 and 3), who compete in league and cup hockey competitions at club level primarily in the Munster hockey provincial region along with other local South East cup competitions. Individual men’s senior hockey players regularly progress to represent the Munster hockey province at Interprovincial competitions on various age category teams. Our Men’s 1st team compete in national all-Ireland club hockey competitions. In 2019 Waterford Hockey Club Men’s 1st team won the Irish Hockey Trophy national all-Ireland club tournament.
