Training Times
Training sessions typically take place from September to April at Newtown School hockey pitch in Waterford city.
For the new 2023 / 2024 hockey season our training schedule below will commence for the following teams on the following dates:
Senior teams: Women’s 1, 2, 3 & U18 Girls, Men’s 1, 2, 3 from week beginning Monday, 14th August 2023.
Junior teams: U16 Girls (2008 and above), U14 Girls (1st & 2nd year) from Monday, 28th August 2023. Senior Boys (2nd to 4th year), Junior Boys (6th class & 1st year) from Tuesday, 29th August 2023.
Academy: Waterford Hockey Academy, (Junior Infants to 4th class girls and 3rd class boys) from Sunday, 10th September 2023. U12 Girls (5th & 6th class) from Monday, 11th September 2023. U11 Boys (4th & 5th class) from Tuesday, 12th September 2023.
Goalkeepers: Senior goalkeepers (5th year to adult) from Monday, 14th August 2023. Intermediate goalkeepers (2nd year to 4th year), Junior goalkeepers (5th class to 1st year) from Monday, 11th September 2023.

Waterford Hockey Academy caters for all children, new to the sport of hockey, from Junior Infants (from a minimum age of 5) up to age 11 (U12 Girls) and up to age 10 (U11 Boys).
