The annual ‘McBride Cup’ will take place at Newtown School hockey pitch on Sunday 3rd September 2017. Waterford Hockey Club will be proudly hosting Enniscorthy Men’s 1s & 2s teams and Kilkenny Men’s 2s team for the tournament. Goal difference will decide the winner of this prestigious cup.
The ‘McBride Cup’ is strongly associated with hockey in Waterford. The ‘McBride Challenge Cup’ was originally presented to the ‘South Eastern Hockey Leagues’ as a winner’s trophy cup for the men’s section by the local Waterford McBride family in 1935.
Note: All matches are 23 minutes per half with a 5 minute break between halves. Warm ups for all matches should take place on the grit pitch.

Friendly match during interval:
12pm, Waterford Men’s 2nd team vs Enniscorthy Men’s 2nd team.
Match 2:
1pm, Waterford Men’s 1st team vs Kilkenny Men’s 2nd team.
Match 3:
2pm, Waterford Men’s 1st team vs Enniscorthy Men’s 1st team.
McBride Cup presentation will follow immediately afterwards.
